Hey Guys and Gals:I've seen some posts on interior upgrades. I have a 1976 Catalina 27 and want to know if the vinyl liner (I think it is) can be painted. The surface is slightly textured.ThanksMelody
Hi Melody!I've touched up spots on the liner of my boat and no apparent problems. I would suspect that to paint the entire thing you'd probably need to rough up the surface with sandpaper first. Are you thinking a different color or just trying to clean it up? You might be able to find some cleaner that would be easier than an entire paint job - Island Girl, for instance.LaDonna
Hi LaDonna:Thanks for the input. The previous owner inadvertently got some floor paint on one side of the cabin wall. The two spots are pretty noticeable. I don't think I'll be able to match new white to old white so I'll either paint one wall or the whole cabin.Roughing up with sandpaper makes sense. What do you recommend for paint?ThanksMelody
Melody and LaDonna, I have a weird beige color for my headliner. All of my friends' C27's have white headliners, which I think makes them appear more spacious. It has never really bugged me too much, but if you decide to paint and have good luck, I'd like to hear about it.Thanks!Rob
