Anyone know what stain Hunter used on the 1990 legend 35.5 teak?

Pat- We have been trying to reach you, but our calls have gone unreturned. We still have the replacement holding tank I ordered for you back in the summer. Please call ASAP so we can make arrangements to ship it to you. Thanks, Garrett Pensell Tidewater

Interior Teak

Pat, On our 1987 35'Legend I believe Hunter used Daly's Seafin Teak Oil. Someone on this forum told me about it last year and I ordered it and it worked great. You might go into the archives and see if you can find the post. If you have trouble let me know and I'll try and find the phone number in my files. Sharyn s/v New Day

Thanks Sharyn

Thanks for the response Sharyn. I don't think that there is an oil on the teak. It appears to me that it has been stained and POSSIBLY varnished with one coat of matte. Or it might be a stain/varnish combination.

Pat, Daly's is the one...

... that Hunter told me to use. Even though it say SeaFin Teak Oil, it has a stain and hard finish in it. It is very durable. I had teak cabinets that I used it on (see Photo Forum, search for "teak cabinets"). I hear that West Marine carries it, but you can contact Daly's Home Improvement Center in Bellevue and Seattle, WA (Check on Yahoo search). They will ship it to you.

I agree that Dalys is the one

It does not look like an oiled surface when it's dry. Hunter uses it at the factory, and when you wipe it on raw teak, it develops the rich warm tones you are looking for, though it does not seem to contain a stain. How it does it's magic is anyone's guess. "Try it... you'll like it" BTW you can always order it from Hunter if you cant find it locally. Be sure NOT to get Dalys Profin... that's for the sole only.
