I have a 1999 Hunter 380. The interior speakers, which are square, are literally disintegrating. (see picture) They are 6.5 inches square and I can't find replacements. If I went with round ones the opening to the back would need to be a circle with a 5 inch diameter, (without enlarging it), and would need to be 7 inch in the front to hide the 4 screw wholes from the previous speakers. Has anyone changed these out and do they have a recommendation?

Thank you

Tom

I could not see enough in the image if it could be done, but I would cut a proper size of white 1/4" starboard with matching screw holes for the original speaker, then cut 5" hole and mount the new speakers.

Call these guys but first, get precise measurements of the mounting circle and the cut-out hole. The brand name and model would be good for them as well. Happy hunting ! A crucial measurement is the outside dimensions of the grille.. It looks like the place where it is mounted is only flat at the grille dimension and it falls away quickly beyond..

I'm not sure if any of this is helpful, but Crutchfield carries marine speakers and adapters

West Marine actually has a square speaker. It's a perfect replacement that I used on my 410.

Also I did not use the box of course but again it was a perfect fit, good sound also.
Not sure if you can enlarge and see it on starboard side, only pic I have on me.

I typed "cover for auto speakers" into that google thing and then clicked on images. The number of choices was overwhelming.

Here is one that looks close

I had the same issue on my P456 as it came with the same factory speakers. I installed Fusion FR6022 ($100 Amazon) and these sound great. They fit perfectly into the existing 5" cutout. However the mounting hole spacing was smaller @ 4.5". So I rotated the round speakers 45 degrees and drilled new mounting holes.
I'll take a picture this weekend of the finished install.
