I recall reading not that long ago, of your advice to rid the boat interior of odors after addressing the "system". Your advice was to put some tank treatment chemical into a spray bottle and spray down the interior, the cushions etc.and leave all hatches open for about 24hrs. I have attempted to search the archives for this post with out success. What chemical did you recommend? Thanks

Raritan K.O.

It's not a chemical, it's a live bacteria product. The bacteria "eat" the odor-causing spores and bacteria. Remove your cushion covers, spray 'em separately and put 'em out in the sun for a day. Make sure you use enough on the cushion foam to penetrate all the way to the middle from both sides....put it out in the sun for a day too. And do the same for any musty foulies, PFDs, and anything else you can put outside. Sunlight does wonders for odors, especially musty moldy odors.

Don't dilute K.O.

You'll just have to use a bit more to saturate--not dripping wet, just through--the cushion. Apply it a little at a time to let it soak in.
