Has anyone rebuilt the interior of a 22' O'day or similar layout, to a more workable situation, considering the v-berth is way to short except for kids or such. Pictures or layouts would be nice to see how and what people do, like or dislike.
I'm not sure about the O'day 22 but on my website I have alot of links where people have rebuilt the cabins of their sailboats and redisigned them alot. You may be able to get some good ideas and inspiration from checking out the different links
Go to Sailing and Such and then the Sailboat Projects page and look at the different pages, lots of info. Good Luck!

...Fourbtgait, I have a MacGregor 23 and I have made some renovations . Mostly with wainscoating or light wood and fiberglass. I enclosed the head and placed an exhaust fan in the overhead as well as a sliding door.A shower is on my wish list. There are lots of things you can do and if you search through all the forums you will find some real good ideas. Decide what it is you want to have in your cabin and then look for ideas. On my port side the berth is a bit narrow , I may make a slide out supported board for it and use the extra verticle cushion as an add on for sleeping. Another good place for ideas is to surf the web and check out RV interiors.. My bow berth is ok on the port side but only good for kids on the Stbd side.At this time I keep my boat bag with all my clothes in it there(stbd side.) it can always be moved easily .I fit up there on the port side so if I have company (which I never have ) they can sleep in the big berth and I will go up forward....Good luck...Smitroe
