Are these for trim, or through hulls?
There a couple of challenges.
- The color used in 1983 will have a faded patina. Even if you had the exact same original color code they would not look exactly the same
- lot colors vary through the years. Unless the original owner bought a sample of the original gel coat What was made in 1983 may not look the same in 2023.
Boat owners who try to match colors need to be painters. They need to have an eye for the subtle color components and do their best to match the colors by altering the tints. All bets are off if you are one of the selected with natural color blindness.
