Interfacing from Datamarine to Raymarine??

MaineSail,

I know I read that you interfaced your old Datamarine transducer to your ST60+ display.

I not sure if you are familiar with or know anyone who used what I think is a new product from Raymarine which supposedly converts old analog signals to digital signals for the new instrument displays. It's a Raymarine product #E70010.

I'm not an electronics guru and not sure if I could use this product somehow to keep my old Datamarine transducers & instruments and use this product to send information to my (new)SeaTalkNG network to be used by my chart plotter (e7) and one I70.

My current Datamarine instruments work just fine and I wasn't looking to update them until they break but would love to share their information with my other instruments.

Any thoughts?

Seems that it might depend on how you read the description:

The iTC5 connects to Raymarine’s SeaTalkng network and works with most analog transducers from legacy Raymarine ST30, ST40, ST50, ST60, ST80 and ST290 series instruments. Additionally the iTC5 works with Raymarine fluxgate compass modules as well as rotary and linear rudder feedback transducers to support compass heading and rudder angle instruments.

Maybe it only means to old Raymarine transducers.

Stu - you might be right, plus they probably won't tell me if it could be done unless it involved Raymarine transducers. I have a question into Raymarine and DMI just to see how they respond.

If you download the manual and look at the electrical connections page it may help.

It seems that this interface is designed to use the old transducers with new Raymarine displays or with an adaptor Nmea2000 other Displays.
It doesn't look like you can keep your existing displays.

As the old transducers fail, you will replace them with new Seatalking or Nmea200 types. Eventually the interface will not be needed anymore.

It's becoming harder and harder to find suppliers of the old transducers:cry:

Good Luck
