Interface GPS with Autohelm

I have a Garmin GPS 76 and a Raytheon ST100 Autohelm which I am installing on a H260. The installation went great with both units and I hope to post photos in the near future. However, I am having a problem interfacing the GPS to the Autohelm and, unfortunately, wasted the weekend trying to make these two communicate. Both units seem to function fine, independently. The boat is pointing at 263 degrees (the reading on the autohelm). I plotted a route from my present location to 281 degrees in the GPS and set the GPS to navagate the route. I then set the Autohelm to receive the NEMA data output from the GPS but it just does not seem to get to the Autohelm. I tried to reverse the NEMA IN/OUT wires but to no avail. I am hoping someone out there has some experience with this - any help would by appreciated!

Is the Garmin set to output NEMA?

I'm not familiar with your unit, but the Garmin eTrex has a setting for various comm. formats including Garmin, NEMA, and a few others. Fair winds, Tom

Thanks Tom!

Just like the eTrex, the Garmin 76 outputs in different formats and, at present, I've tried them all. I've now decided to leave it on the standard "NEMA" setting but still unsuccessful. I've also emailed Raytheon and Garmin and am waiting for their response. Thanks Again!
