We have a hunter 420 and are going.

SoCal September Hunter Redezvous Reminder

Mark your calendars for the weekend of September 22nd for a Hunter owner rendezvous in Cat Harbor, Catalina Island.

Figure we'll have a dinghy raft in the afternoon Friday and noon Saturday, then cocktails and pot luck hors d'oeuvres at four at the Cat Harbor facility by the dinghy dock and a bring your own meat BBQ at six.

We will also have some breakfast thing AM Sunday. We may have some speakers Saturday, but no guarantees; we'll see what develops as we get closer. I am currently looking for an island speaker who can give us a presentation on island history. Also checking out sail makers. We have had some broker interest as well.

Costs will be minimal. Just the expense of the facility rental ($100) and any shared stuff for the BBQ and any nominal speaker expense.

Attitude Adjustment 2 will be heading over mid week as planned now.

Hunter Rendezvous

So South Coast yachts and Cruising Yachts both are doing a Hunter Rendezvous and now you want another one? 3 in 1 year, seems a bit much.

what is needed is one organized event of the year! And hunter should be more envoled

but by having many small ones, people may be able to get the timing together and make at least on of them.

September 21 Friday arrival:
 4:00 PM Dinghy raft up by dingy docks
 Dinner on your own.

September 22 Saturday:
 Cat Harbor facility straight up from dingy docks
 9:00 AM Coffee, rolls and juice
 10:00 AM Update on Hunter Marine, Marlow acquisition, warranty and parts.
 11:00 AM Guest speaker, TBA
 12:00 PM Ball park hot dogs (veggie on request), water & beer
 12:00-1:00 PM Owners stories, modifications, frustrations and successes
 5:00 PM Happy hour. BYOB, ice & water provided.
 6:00 PM BBQ. Bring your own meat. Pasta salad, green salad and desert provided.

Sunday September 23
 9:00 Coffee, rolls & juice.
 Departure or on your own in Cat Harbor.

Cost
 $20 per person payable at rendezvous.

This is the same weekend that Almar Marina is sponsoring a BBQ for all of their members on the Isthmus side (West bandstand). It's labeled as the "1st Annual Catalina Cruse-In".

I would still like to swing by the Cat side and meet all of those who attend your event.

Formal SoCal Hunter Rendezvous Cancelled, but...

...we'll still be in Cat Harbor and looking for people for a dinghy raft up at 4:00 PM Friday September 21st over by the dinghy docks. BYOB and snacks.

I'll be on mooring D-6; the boat is Attitude Adjustment 2, a Hunter 40.5.
We'll figure out what we want to do Saturday. We do have the BBQ area up from the dinghy dock for Saturday, so if we decide to use it, it's ours.

Although this has been out there for a long time and Sailboats unlimited put it in their newsletter, I only have the responses here which doesn't justify shaking down anyone for speaking or SWAG. Time has run out for arrangements with the store and others.

When I thought of this, I didn't think any of the brokers nor Hunter was up to staging a rendezvous this year, but I was (happily) wrong. There were two and they were certainly more professional than this one set out to be.
