Being new to thiis, and not seeing a large availability of parts, I would like to know:
1) To replace the keel on a 25, do any other models use the same size keel?
2) Would a trailer from a 25 ('80s) also be compatilble for a '92 26?
3) does anyone know of a good parts source here in Southern California?
4) are any other major parts interchangeable (masts, boom, saiils, etc.)? where could I find such information?

Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!

Since no one else has chimed in,
1, No, keel weight and shape varies by model, check the knowledge base.
2, Maybe, 25 trailer puts the boat quite a bit higher than other models because most of the keel is under the boat instead of in the trunk, and the 26 is water ballasted.
3, Minney's yacht surplus is a good place to start, Craig's list.
4, mast and boom are standard extrusions, and can be cut down, anything of the same general size could be modified, check other brand parts for similar size boats, I am using a 150 genoa off of who knows what that I bought from Minneys, they have lots of sails, the knowledge base lists sizes.
If you could be more specific as to what you need to get your boat working you would get a better response, there are a few 25 owners on here. Tim

Sorry I couldn't be more specific.
I was looking into getting a boat, and had an opportunity for two different vessles - one is a Mac 25, but the person lost the keel, and I was kinda leary of this one, since I have heard from others that once the keel is gone, the replacement costs can be more than the boat is worth. I also was looking at a Mac 26, but the owner doesn't have a trailer. So, my thought was to buy the 25, salvage what could used, and put the 26 on the 25 trailer.
Your insight has certtainly given me more to consider. Tnanks!

Thanks for the advice. Luckily, I was able to find a keel for the 25, so I should soon be able to get oin the water...
