Russ,

1. Do a search on "piezo" there was a recent discussion about replacing the buzzer http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062398#tabsetBasic

2. Your engine wiring manual should be reviewed. The way it works is that your lift pump comes on in two ways: a) when your glow plugs are energized with the key in the glow plug position and b) when your oil pressure comes up. Here's a link to other links that discuss how it works: http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,5078.msg41829.html#msg41829

Thanks Stu,

I checked the ring, but never even worked down to the tab (spade) connectors so I will check those first.

And I printed out the wiring diagram, seems this was talked about, my mind must be going with the remorse of having to put my baby away for the winter. I remember now that the oil switch act's as sort of a fail safe to the engine to shut down the fuel pump in the event of oil pressure loss. Guess they never figured on the gravity flow keeping it running.

I'll check it out.... Russ

Russ, yes, perhaps that was the concept, but it was also discussed in detail in the link I provided. They call it a LIFT pump for only one reason - most boats have tanks below the engine! :) I wouldn't call it a fail safe though, because there's usually enough fuel in the lines to keep an engine running longer than past an oil issue. Good luck. Happy reading.
