Instrument mounting arrangements

I'm making a piece of teak to cover 4 old instrument holes, fashioned like the cardboard in the attached photo. I'd like to mount the instruments pictured, with the third instrument (wind direction and speed) coming at at later date, and the first 2 instruments (depth/speed and tach) mounted with initial installation of the teak. I can't decide what instrument to put in which hole position, and think the tach doesn't even belong there except there isn't room on the old panel for a tach and I want a tach. I don't mind it being on the teak. Any suggestions or thoughts? I'll try and attach the photo which has hole numbers marked in red and photos of the instruments. thank you, dave

Whatever works for you

Hi Dave - There's no "correct" way regarding instrument order, but I'd consider the locating the most important (or useful) instruments inboard. Perhaps the wind direction top inboard with the knotmeter below it. Outboard bottom might be the tach - etc. You'll naturally glance at the top inboard first, so I'd place whatever you think is most important data there. Just my 2 cents - have fun! Trevor
