Installing Xantrex charger: dc circuit breaker

So i have a question about how the breaker is supposed to be wired. In this it looks like its pointed to the optional remote display.

The boat came with the xantrex true charge 10. It has its green wire (shown in #1 below) connected to the negative (shown in #3 below) then ran to the circuit breaker on\off switch.

Can i wire the new charger this same way?

Are you talking the AC or DC side of the unit.
In either case the PO did not wire it correctly as the green is the AC 110 safety ground and should never be switched, ever.

The ac and dc negative sides were running to the ships ground.

How do you wire it to enable turning on\off the charger?
