Help installing Autpilot wheel X-5 from raymarine. locating the compas unit and the control box, also installing the wheel/moter in the Hunter 306 pedistal

As a general rule all boats are different.
My crystal ball says you should just follow the instructions that came with the unit. If you don't have them try googling the manufacture and see if it is avalable on line.

Reference my S-1 installation on an H34 on the Big Boat forum. Only difference is the X-5 doesn't need the rudder sensor. The Merrimen pedistal should be very similar to an Edson if that's what's on your 306. Attached is a pic of the wheel unit for reference.
