What adhesive is recommended for installation of a teak/holly plywood sole inside the cabin? The plywood will be encased in epoxy prior to installation.

Waterproof Silicone Adhesive

Just refinished the sole on my 1981 37c and had to replace two sections. Original flooring had clear silicone adhesive on it. Went to Home Depot and found a high grade of Clear waterproof Silicone Adhesive for about $15.00. Worked great.

Sealant for installing Teak/Holly

I would suggest Life Seal, since the plywood will be encased in epoxy. If it were not encased, I would suggest Teak Deck Sealant, which requires no primer and also has a 24 hour cure time. Life Seal is a silicone/polyurethane combination which takes the best features of each and none of the drawbacks of either. 24 hour curing, permanently flexible, superior UV, low odor, non-acid curing, mildew resistant and it can be removed without damaging the surface.

Thanks, Grace

I'll be final fitting the sheets this week and hopefully installing them next week. I'll give the Life Seal a try. Jim, there are numerous vendors on the web selling teak/holly plywood, but it might cost a fortune to get it to Hawaii. I drove to Norfolk to pick mine up to save trucking costs. If you only want the veneer, I'm not sure of a source.
