I need advise on installing radar on my 29.5 . I was leaning toward installing the radome on a pole at the transom but cannot find a suitable location.The problem with mast mounting is the routing of the cable.H E L P

Well, John, I had the same issues with my V32. The manufacturer's installation guide seems to lean to a pole mount (vs. mast) for better in-close reception (Furuno). Besides, I didn't like the idea of mounting it on a free standing rig. I wanted to use the Edson pole system, but lacked a place to put it. Ultimately, I had a machine shop create a S/S 90 degree stand-off bracket that I mounted to the transom. Had a one inch hole cut though for cable routing from the Edson base. Was about $85 as I recall. Worked great. I also have a pole mount on my 40.5 that the prior owner had fabricated from stainless tubing. Good luck. Suggest creating a model from balsa wood or something first to be sure you don't blindside yourself with some unexpected complication. Rick D.
