Hello all!
I am using my S2 7.3 to give sailing lessons and I wanted to get a hank on jib (100%) which will be more appropriate for running through maneuvers. I was thinking of installing jib tracks to accommodate the smaller headsail. I'm not quite sure where the best place to position the cars would be. Has anyone installed jib tracks on their boat that might have experience with this?

Thanks

If you have the sail already, I'd hoist it and experiment with different positions on the slotted toerail. Once you have an idea of how far back you want them, just move the sheets inboard some, and that's probably where you'll want the tracks.

I have three different sizes of hank-on jibs for my 6.8 (80%, 100%, and 160%) and I just use the toerail. For each sail, I have a different range of slots I clip the blocks to, depending on wind strength.

If you do end up installing tracks, be sure to properly seal the holes to avoid water intrusion into the balsa, and use sufficient backing.

Hope this helps.
