I am in the process of replacing my manual jabsco with a wilcox crittenden electric head, it did not come with a solinoid for the vent loop is this something that is needed, also it does not draw the water unless vent is completely shut off any ideas on this. BTW if any 356 owners are considering this project make sure you order the 90 deg discharge outlet with toilet, also I tried the jabsco electric but sent it back FYI. thanks in advance John S/V Alcyone 356 #202

Yep...you do need the solenoid valve....

Which you can get from Jabsco...they seem to be the only ones that make it. It's part #37968-0000 Neither vented loops nor solenoid valves are ever included with any toilets, 'cuz they're only needed when the toilet is at or below waterline...which is the case on only about 50% of boats. The toilet mfrs aren't gonna waste the money to include 'em just to have half of 'em discarded.
