I have just purchased a Beneteau 36 cc and was thinking of installing davits for a tender. I have been looking at the Hunter "Liberty" as alternative to stowing an inflatable on deck. Has anyone successfully installed davits on a sugar scoop stern? Thanks Roger

Good idea!

I have installed davits (Ocean Systems) on two successive boats. The open stern has no impact on the davits. The only thing is that you have to reinforce the vertical transome panels on your B36 or consider a stiff leg to carry the load. Jim

davits

I have an arch on my '94 Bene 400 that doubles as a davit for my Avon. Works pretty well, but with a hard dink it would be difficult to secure it. The inflatable allows me to just put a line around it and snug it up tight to the stern rail. It mashes in a little and becomes very secure. A hard dink wouldn't do that.
