Installing chocks on the bow

Catalina 250WK Naples
Hello fellow Catalina owners,
I have a C250WK. Chocks for the anchor line & bowlines are worn down. Bought new ones from Catalina Direct.
Before I go down to the marina to take out the old chocks, I would like any guidance from owners who have installed
chocks on the bow. I've looked at the area from inside the forward cabin. There is no access to any area that would lead
me to believe that there are supports or strengthened areas of the hull for the chock's screws/bolts.
I suspect that the chocks are held in place by screws (and sealant) installed from the deck, into the interior of the deck.
Can anyone shed any light on this question?
I appreciate any advice and guidance!
Fair winds,
Brady

Use this guide as your bible for sealing. Do not use silicone. It will fail. 4200/5200 will fail in a decade or two.

Your cleats should be through bolted. On my 94 C30, (poor) access is through a small access port in the anchor locker. Wear long sleeves, put some duct or gorilla tape on the edge of the port. It will make the work much less painful. Chances are that your boat has minimal reinforcement in the form of small washers. Use a stack of three stainless fender washers to distribute the load.
