I bought a used 1982 22 ft. Hunter last summer. However, there was no bilge pump in it. My wife bought be an automatic bilge pump for Christmas, but the only access to the bilge I can find easily wouldn't put the pump at the low end of the bilge to get all the water out. Any body know where and how to install an automatic bilge pump in a 22 ft. Hunter? Are there plans/instructions anywhere on-line that would hel me figure this out? Thanks! Jim

starboard side

Well, I've been meaning to take some pictures of how mine is set up, but haven't had time. In a nutshell, there is a hose coming off the pump and back toward the exit on the starboard side of the boat towards the stern. I have an 82 also so the setup would be the same. Mine doesn't get all the water out, but most of it. The only remaining water is actually back flow after the bilge turns off. The hose itself is probably 10 feet that runs under the water holding tank. When I first hooked mine up I hooked the negative up to the fuse box and it didn't generate enough power to pull the water. I hooked the black wire up directly to the battery and it works fine now. I'll still try to post pics this weekend.
