Installing auto pilot H 29.5

Installing wheel drive on pedestal ,the motor drive is to long and will not allow the wheel to go on the shaft , any one have this problem, and how did you install yours,cut hole in pedestal,extend shaft ??? raymarine st4000 mk2.H29.5 I think cutting hole would be the best option but before I start cutting I thought someone else might have another option.

I have the X-5. I cut a hole in the pedestal. The computer is also, mounted in the pedestal. You can barely see it in this pic.

my H29.5 had AP installed by dealer. They used a hole saw to cut a perfect hole for teh motor to fit in. I thought it a brilliant and very well executed solution. Sorry - I do not have a pic.

My install was fairly easy. No real issues. Just make sure you tie your wiring away from the steering cables
