Installing a knotmeter in a Capri 22

I need to drill a through-hull hole to install a knotmeter in my 1990 Catalina 22 Capri. I can't find any specs.that indicate if there is any type of core in the hull fiberglasss or just glass. If anyone can help me, it would be appreciated. I would also appreciate any advice on installng a knot meter like best location, etc. Thanks` Tim Higgins

Tim, The capri22 hull is not cored. I have a 1987 capri22 and the knot meter is located on the port side under v-berth fairly close to the centerline. If you go to the capri22 website you may get others to respond. - http://www.capri22.net/phpbb/
