1995 Hunter 26: I bought a chock to drop my rode into when on the hook so that it doesn't rub up and down my deck edge. I thought I was going to install it on top of the deck/hull seam, but that seems to be a bad place because of the immediate rise of the deck next to the seam. I looked at the edge along the anchor locker, but am wondering about access to the back edge to use bolts and a backing plate. Has anyone been up above the V-berth to install backing plates up there? Is there an easier way than cutting holes and patching with deck plates? I noticed that the forward bulkhead is just a masonite type board - does that give the access? Many thanks.

Pull it back and look I remember a picture somewhere of the chock on a block to get the chock up higher
