So, I’ve been getting water in my 1979 Catalina 22 and I’ve noticed the gasket on the pop top was deteriorating so I ordered a new one from Catalina and installed it. I put the adhesive on the underneath of the pop top itself where the previous gasket was. Now, the pop top is not closing into place. I attached pictures to show what I’m talking about but I’m kind of lost on what’s causing it.
some other helpful info:
I have had the boat for a year and hadn’t opened the pop top until replacing the gasket the other day
The new gasket is about 3x as thick as the old gasket.
