Great idea to keep it out of the weather when buttoned-up. How did you do the mounting bolts on the boat - screwed directly to fiberglass with wood screws, or through-bolted with a backing washer?

I predrilled holes through the fiberglass and into the back of the aft cabin board support for wood screws for the hinge plates. I used 3/4" long wood screws.

I used Salice hinges and plates.
Salice plate number: BAR3R29
Salice hinge number: C2RFP99
