Hi,
As in the post below re H340, I am installing a Webasto 16,000, and am requesting info on the factory installed units. I plan on having the intake and strainer in the main bilge area to port of the setee where the refrig unit is, with the pump in the same area just above the strainer; but, below the intake port at the unit itself. Wondering if that is what Hunter does? Pictures if any available would be helpful. Thanks.

Wyctoronto,

Take a look at the 356 manual in the download section under page 63B-3 for a good representation of how the factory install is routed.

The middle starboard side sea cock goes to a strainer, then to the A/C pump with the water line going forward below the sink/freezer line. The hose comes up to the A/C unit sitting below the inner side of the dinette seat backed up to the sink. The drain line goes to a drain maybe 1 foot above the water line.

Hope that helps.

Wyctoronto:
I did the same project on my 04 H36. Our good departed friend Jim off of the s/v Java generated a wonderful document which is to large to attach on the installation of AC on his H356. I also have a parts list if you need it that I generated. Send me a PM with email address and I will send the two documents.

Here are some photos that should help you.

Thru hulls above. The lower photo is where I attached a hose to my shower dump for the condensate from the HVAC unit. Factory install has the condensate flowing into the bilge.

The entire unit fits under the settee seat that is just forward of the sink.

I would select a good sized top-opening strainer (Perko) since it is less mess. Put it somewhere easy to service, since it will plug with seagrass. Don't forget the external strainer (I sucked up a fish, which plugged the plumbing between the seacock and hose).
