I have a Hunter 39. The port light in the head is leaking. I want to pull it out and re-bed it. I'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the interior frame. There are no visible screws. I have pride on it with a putty knife but it hasn't pop out. I don't want to break it so any help on the proper way to remove it would be greatly appreciated. I have searched the archives and found a lot of great information on removing the exterior window but none on the interior frame.

Welcome to the site. @SV Temenos.

The first thing I would recommend at this point is to identify the manufacturer of the portlight. It's there somewhere, often not obvious. Look for any markings on the lens which may identify it. Something may also show on the exterior of the port frame.

With that exterior grill over the port frame, it looks like you're in for a fun time removing it as that is the where the leak is most likely originating.

Thank you for the reply. I was away this weekend and not able to get to the boat. I will try to go at it from the outside and see if I can identify the manufacturer. I'm not holding my breath though :). If anyone has removed a similar Hunter window advise would be greatly appreciated.

If you're trying to remove the plastic interior trim and if it's anything like mine, it's held in place with a few little bits of a velcro-like material. Use a small pick tool with a 90 degree bend to slip in under the edge and go around the frame to identify the attachment points and then rotate the 90 degree bend to pop them free.

If it's not like mine, good luck. Be gentle, because AFAIK replacement trim pieces aren't available.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I don't think so but will look again when it gets above freezing here. I had stuck a putty under it and gently pride up but wasn't able to get it pop off. I'm thinking mine are held on by plastic tabs or something but like you said I am really worried about breaking it as replacement seems impossible to get.

I was able to get it off and just wanted to update the thread in case someone else runs into this. The interior frame was just held by silicone. I was able to use a small putty knife to cut through the silicone and get it off. Was able to do this without breaking it so that was a win!
