Hi Teddy, I would think it rather difficult...

to do on a fractional rig. Maybe someone has done it before. Not much room to fit it in. Terry

Inner Stay Thoughts

The 35.5 and 37.5 have a high aspect rig so even though it's a fractional rig there room available for an inner stay, especially if you have any thoughts about sailing in high winds. Consider the mast attach point in the neighborhood of the top spreader, give or take, so as to minimize weakining of the mast. From there go to a point just a bit behind the chain locker. Wichard has some hardware specifically for a removable inner stay attach point which has above-deck and below-deck attach points. The below-deck attach goes via a connector (not supplied) to a point below the bow. They also have hardware for attaching the removable innerstay to the deck in the stowed position. A smaller and lower forward triangle would help sailing characteristics substantially on these two boats. Our H-35 has essentially the same sail plan as the 35.5 and in the 25 to 30 knot range the 110 is too much sail and the 70 is too far forward to get any slot effect so an innerstay in these conditions would be very advantageous. A fring benefit would be redundancy for supporting the rig. Speaking of rig, I think running backs would be desirable when the innerstay is deployed.
