I have an Oceanis 321 with Volvo-Penta engine type MD-2030. I have to replace the injector nozzles after 1000 hr. I didn't know it should be changed, at periodic check of engine, we have noticed that the movement of needle in injectors ( all of 3 ) are almost impossiblle, they move in and out very hard and we decided to replace them. Is it normal to change them at 1000 hour, or do I missing some items related with engine. Thank you.

They don't need to be changed.

They need to be tested and rebuilt. Only the nozzle wears, generally, in a mere 1000 hours. The major reason for failure in so short a period would be clogging from dirty fuel or excessive wear of the orfices. Whatever you do, don't clean them. They must be serviced by a certified shop. Jim
