There is a sailboat on a trailer down the road from my house It hasn't left the yard in the 4 years that I've lived here.I'd like to approach the people but Ihave never seen anyone in the yard. The boat is about 25to 27 feet long The unusual part is that there appears to have a raised aft cabin with the cockpit in the middle. This does not appear to be a kit or otherwise homemade. The keel seems long and shallow.Any ideas of the manufacture or worth. It seems like it would be a neat project.Thank you for any help.Timm R

Maybe a Nor'Sea 27

What you describe sounds like a Nor'Sea 27. The "link" will show you a picture of one on a trailer. HTH

Timm, not enough info to really help but

really bad things happen to boats propped up on land for long periods. Right off hand I can't think of a boat that meets your description. It sounds like it may be some type of center cockpit with slightly raised aft cabin but I can't think in that size. What's it made of, wood or fiberglass ? Does it have a full keel or centerboard ? full keel may be something like a Dana 24 which might be worthwhile.

Pehaps a Parker-Dawson?

Here's a link to picture on a listing of one for sale.

Thank You

Wow that was fast.I'm sorry for not posting a photo.I'm much better machining and welding than I am getting a computer to do something. It is exactly like the photo that Colin posted.Does anyone know anything about these.I'd consider it if price condition and reputation were acceptable .Thank you once again for the fasr answers. Timm, The boat in Colin's link has had

what looks like thousands in work the last couple years and is in good condition and they are "asking" $7,000. Could you take that boat in the yard and make it as good as this one already is for less?

Parker-Dawson

Back around 1980 the Parker-Dawson got a lot of rave reviews in the sailing mags, and was touted as being an ideal way of getting into gunkholing and coastal cruising. I was thinking seriously about it at the time. Then it seemed to just fade away....
