Information about set up of trailer

I am purchasing a 1976 Vega and need to trailer it about 130 miles. I
have found a trailer I can borrow that is designed for a 32' sailboat.
Before leaving to pick up my new boat, I'd like to set up the trailer
as best I can. What I most want to avoid is hauling the trailer 130
miles and then discovering that it won't work with the Vega.

Does anyone have any measurements of the hull or trailer that might
help me?

I noticed some pictures of a Vega trailer in the Photos section posted
by bbach1949. Is bbach1949 still out there and could you help me?

Hi Jim,

When I bought my vega, I had a trailer that had been used for a 32
foot Islander. It had adjustable pads on the sides, but there was
virtually no adjustment needed. My vega is now sitting on the
trailer for the winter. If you need measurments etc. give me a
call. Just drop me a line to my email address and I can get you my
phone number. This Sunday (Nov. 11) will be the only time I can get
the measurements for you if you need them. Later.

Hi Jim,

I welded up a cradle, chained it to a car trailer,
and moved mine 420 miles. It is a simple rectangular
frame with four jack-stands on each corner. If
interested I could measure it up and send it to you.

Hi Jim,
There is also a drawing of a wooden cradle intended for winter
storage at the American Vega Assn. website. It is in the VORM (Vega
Owner's Repair and Maint. Manual) under "Miscellanea". Perhaps there
are dimensions there that could be checked against the trailer.

Bill, you're kind to get back to me. I think I'm covered with the
measurements. Thanks to a lead that I got from Craig (vegatern), I
checked on the America Vega website and found measurements for a cradle.
I think they will work well. I should have a better idea next week.
I'll write if I still need any help. Again, thanks. As a soon-to-be
owner of a Vega, I really appreciate this Yahoo group. Jim
