Nice Boat!
I am not an expert on the Capri 30 but I did race on one for 2 years at Lake Lavon in the Dallas TX area.It was a real nice boat. The owner had all the bells and whistles to make her a real racehorse. I was the mainsheet trimmer, so got a good view of all the happenings before, during and after each race. We usually sailed with a crew of about 7 or 8 including helmsman. That allowed for 1 or 2 persons to be railmeat which we needed if there was any real breeze at all. The name of this boat is "Carumba". Its handicap rating was quite low, so we usually had to win by a large margin. That wasn't very hard because this boat would run away from the rest. Our main competition at this particular yacht club was an Olson 30 and a Merit 25. Both of which had excellent crew. I don't have much of the specifications or anything but I do remember some of the extras this guy had added. His name is Ron Shirley and I believe he still lives in Dallas and races on Lake Lavon. I saw him at this years NOOD Regatta down in Galveston. He usually has his Capri 30 taken down to those races and calls up his Rock Star Crew, but this year he rented a J-24. Racing on his boat caused me to buy my Capri 22 instead of a Catalina 22, which are everywhere.Let me know if you want me to try to contact this individual and maybe you could contact him. If you want a real racer, thats your boat!Good luck.Bryan
