info on GS 37 purchase

woodman, i purchased a 79 gs 37 nov, 04. my understanding from research and q@a is all fuel tanks / water tanks were built as intergral part of keel/ so are fibreglass. on my boat the one problem area i found after the survey was that the boat did not have the deck fittings rebedded since new. i have three areas of wet core to deal with port@stbd at and around the fuel/water fills and deck drains and on the cabin roof over the galley. around the deck drains was a factory issue, they cut to deep to mount the drain flanges, and went into the core (balsa) the rest is owner neglect other than that very pleased with boat sails like a dream all points of sail and is fairly stiff hpoe this helps mike

Thanks for the Info!

Thanks for the reply, Mike! We're taking it out for a "test sail" today, although, we currently have zero wind and temps projected for high 90's (hopefully it's cooler where you are). The boat seems to be in fairly good condition for it's age. I've known the owners (and the boat)for years and they are good about staying ahead of the major problems. But, as we all know, boats are always "projects". Thanks again for the info and good luck with your GS.
