My C-18 did not come with the 12 volt battery. Any recomendation of brand and model number..thanks!

I think my Capri 22 had a "marine deep cycle/starting" battery. I think it was a group 24. I'd be surprised if your 18 didn't take the same. I'm now using a group 27 mounted forward of the compression post. The group 27 wouldn't fit in the cockpit battery locker, not that I'd want it there anyway.
If you're thinking about upgrades I highly recommend changing whatever you can to LED. I've replaced all but 1 cabin light with LED ones from Catalina Direct and all of my nav lights are now LED. Huge savings in power usage, especially when the the anchor light is burning overnight.

We just used a standard group 24 deep cycle marine battery on our C-18. Plenty of power to run the auto pilot, VHF and GPS on a 7 hour crossing to Catalina Island. The group-24 is a tight fit, but it's secure. I wanted to remove the factory battery box to allow either a group 27, or maybe a dual battery set-up, just never got around to that project. But once I installed a charger on my outboard, never worried about battery power again.
