Taking a poll for the best way to clean a PVC inflatable dinghy. What type of sponge, or scotch brite/light sandpaper? What type of solution that doesn’t damage the material?
I tried this product last fall on my Achilles hypalon dinghy. For years I have tried a wide variety of products with varying results.
This product gave me the best result with less scrubbing than all the others. It sounds like just another bottle of snake oil, but it worked for me. There is a U tube video available. As always, YMMV. www.TheButtSeatSpray.com
I found an old Practical Sailors article about cleaners after trying a bunch of different products and I'm impressed by the NRS Inflatable Boat Cleaner I ordered and now use. It is a spray on, wait a minute and hose off the dirt solution, well worth the $15 a bottle. Lots of good information on their website about repairs and maintenance too.
Several years ago my PVC dinghy - a nice aluminum floor model marketed by Coleman - fell apart a while after I used LA Awesome to clean it. I don't know if it was the cleaner or the water soluble glue used in modern inflatables though.
