Does anyone know the process and products required to reglue/seal the bottom seams of an inflatable dingy? I have a 1992 West Marine, 8.5 foot inflatable literally coming apart at the seams. The overall condition is very good so if possible, it would be worth keeping. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

Try the link below to Defender's repair kits. In ordering an adhesive, I think the primary issue is whether the dinghy is made of PVC or Hypalon, as these use different adhesive formulations.

West dink

The old WM dinks were PVC, and some of them were notorious for literally "coming apart at the seams". WM has a repair shop where they will repair these dinks. Don't know how long it takes, or about shipping it from Okinawa though. (Is there a WM store in Okinawa?)

I have done the repair several times on a WM dinghy that I have. Here is a link to another thread here that talks about it with links, etc.

most experts will say pitch it and start over

I have just been through this procedure. and it will work for a while. but my experience is as soon as you get the floor done something else will let go. this boat is getting to old to keep repairing. the glue is relativly expensive two part. like 50 bucks a hit. once mixed it will not keep. lots of work to get the old glue off, reccomended solvent is mek. not to good on your hands ect. The repair station here would say its not worth the money to fix it.
