Can anybody tell me a good place to find an inexpensive gennaker new or used and what's involved in choosing a size for a 37-cutter. Thanks Josh

OTHER GOOD PRICES ON SAILS...

Bacon and Associates is excellent. Their website is www.baconsails.com... Also give www.thesailwarehouse.com a try... I just bought a new genoa from them, and it was the best price I could find. THeir used sails are also reasonably priced, and they have a fair selection... They also ship within 24 hours of your order... Chris

Gennaker

As it turns out we are selling the gennaker from our Legend 37.5 which I have been informed is almost the same boat as the Legend 37, only a couple of years newer. The sail is in great shape (according to the sail maker's used sail rating system), hardly used by the previous owner. The package includes sheets and a snuffer. UK Sails outside Detroit is selling the sail for us. If you are interested call them.

found the size

In case anybody else was wondering about the size, I found a post by Ed Schenck indicating that the people at North Sail recommended 46' luff, slightly smaller leech, and a 30' foot, according to their computers. PLEASE post if someone disagrees

Masthead rig.

Those are the right dimensions Josh. The H37C is a masthead rig and I think the Legend 37 luff would be too short. I think I called Minney for recommendations. I bought a used sail, very light weight and rated a "C+". I think it was about $400. I have only flown it a couple of times. I simply tied about a 3' tack line to the bow roller in front of the bow pulpit. I bought two sheets but really only need one. Since you tack the drifter in front of the jib you may as well just use the one sheet, just take it down the other side. I have a block on the last hole of the toerail on each side. Then the sheet comes forward to the jib winch.
