So I am redoing all my teak which includes the hatch slide rails. I got to thinking, the hatch does open so the forward edge is to the end of the rails however there is another 4 inches it could open if one changed the stop screw location. Has anybody does this?
I don't see an reason at all that it would hurt anything by having the hatch lets say 2 to 3 inches past the end of the slide rails. There would still be plenty of room between the hatch and the tabernacle. I am ordering new hatch slides from Rudy anyway (PO ruined them so bad) so I could even extend them a few inches on the deck top past the current point. 3 to 4 inches more of walk down space or walk up space (head bangs) would be nice.
