An inconsiderate stinkpotter ran into my outboard motor while I was walking up to get my trailer to retrieve my boat! Luckily, I have a thrust ring installed around my prop. The guy just took off, and I did not have the time or velocity to catch up to him, but it will be a long summer....

Yeah, me too.

Well, I feel your pain. Mine wasn't just from inconsiderant stink potters, more like ignorant stink potters. Last weekend, I got a big ole scratch in my boat from a ski boat, trying to hand us a couple of cold ones, they were at least 10 feet away when they tossed over two cans, then I was like "thanks, we'll see ya'll over there in a little while" and then they just kept getting closer, and closer, then just right next to us. I reached over the side to hold them off as we held our course, thinking he'd just ease ahead. This moron decided the best thing would be to turn hard and gas it, he did, (doesnt understand STERN SWING!) It threw his back corner into our side HARD and "CRUNCH!" Big scratch down my top sides. Deep into the gel coat, some parts all the way through to the fiberglass! The worst part was, this kid didnt really apoligize or anything. He was in his Dads new Crownline, yuck! There are plenty of things I could have said, but didnt. Its probably too late now.... anyway, the damage is done. Anyone have any advise on how to fix a gel coat scratch?
