So, I migrated to a Windows 11 laptop on my boat. I have an older AIS module and a GPS antenna with I connect to the laptop via USB's to power Open CPN. When I went to connect them, I found a message "driver not found". I looked for a driver via update, but nothing found. Any suggestions? I am assuming these things must be pretty generic. I have, of course, a chartplotter with AIS but I always liked the redundancy and clarity of the laptop. Any ideas short of buying new gear?

Check in with the OpenCPN guru’s on Cruisers Forum. They will have an answer if it exists. May be an issue with the new OS from windows.

Is it a straight USB connection, or are you using a serial-USB cable?

serial USB cables.
I've had a lot of problems on Windows 11 with Prolific chip based serial-USB converter drivers, but found FTDI chip based ones work well. This is particularly so if your computer is using an ARM processor. Might want to try a different converter like this. If you are already using an FTDI based converter, then I don't have any other suggestions. Amazon.com
