I hope you will excuse my being a little sentimental today and will
bare with me in this reminiscing. The following was printed in the
Vega Newsletter of 25 Apr 1995:

We mourn the loss of a dear friend and member.
Jim Sheldon (1918-1994), a valued member and prolific
contributor to our newsletter for over ten years died peacefully
in his sleep on December 17th after a long bout with cancer. His
love of family and his Vega kept him going in the face of
overwhelming odds. Jim is succeeded by Dru, his wife of 50 years,
and their two daughters, Drusilla and Susan, who will be sailing
the Vega in the New England area. Jim's Vega, "Privateer Chance",
#1879, is pictured in Don Spurr's second edition of "Upgrading the
Cruising Sailboat."

"I have fought a good fight.
I have finished my course.
I have kept the faith"
2 Timothy 4:7

(Jim's last letter to the Vega Newsletter was written August 14, 1994
and printed February 25, 1995.)

In remembrance,

Dru Sheldon
