Hi all, appears i have a small crack behind the sleeve in my foil just above the spreaders (about 6 inches in length). Any idea if a foil can be purchased for a 2004 Beneteau 331? I suspect it's one long piece of aluminium :(

thanks!

Just an assumption on my part, but the mast is possibly a US Spars (Z spar). Give them a call, and they may be able to help.
If its a single piece, it won’t be cheap to ship, and it will be tricky to get the old foil out and the new installed.

Hopefully what you are describing is not a crack in the mast extrusion itself.

thank you Doug.

It's the furler extrusion. It is US Spars and most probably a single piece as you mention :(

thanks again.

On my B411 the foil is a single piece. You will need to drop the mast and take out the furling mechanism. The foil easily comes out he base of the mast. Be sure that the slide for the head of the sail is at the bottom of its slide. Take the opportunity to disassemble the slide , clean and grease the bearings - careful the bearing balls are loose. Use waterproof (green) grease to hold the balls during reassembly. Same with the bearings in the furler (top and bottom). Also check the sheaves at the top of the mast. You can look at the the US Spars catalog on-line for part numbers.

While the foil is one piece, our foresail furlers foils are usually multi-piece joined with bridges and screws. I wonder if you could remove the split and add a scrap foil (maybe from US Spars) with internal bridges and screws or rivets? You can get dimensions from the piece that fits into the foil on top of the furler.
