Can't figure out why Perplexity sailed so far off the rum line. He sail way more miles than he had to lots of boat he was competitive with sailed shorter distance and beat him.
There will be a lot of noise about the benefit of autopilots after this dominant performance by the two handers. I am of the opinion that letting all boats use pilots is the only solution to this issue.

Lots of variables impacting the results. Less wind after the initial few days meant that rail meat wasn't as big a factor as it can be. That also made the autopilots more effective since the waves were smaller.
Why should you be perplexed by their actions? It must be what they do as a matter of course.
