I just re-cut an old (not O'Day) mainsail to the specified 20'6" luff which I've seen for masthead O22's. I have the masthead rig. I understand the fractional rigged O22's have a 24'6" luff.Trouble is, I just looked at a used mainsail, marked with the standard "O" with "22" in it... but the luff was only 19'2"! To add to my dilemma, I notice that some pictures I've seen of O22's under sail look like the boom is almost at the bottom of the sail track opening, as thought they have the shorter luff. My boom comes to where the manual shows... about halfway between the track opening and the halyard cleats. The difference could be accounted for by this luff disparity. Sailrite shows no O22 sail with a 19'2" luff:http://secure.sailrite.com/products.asp?dept=507&pagenumber=3So which is it? Did I cut my sail too long? Is a 19'2" or 20'6" luff correct? Help!
