My ignition bussers only works 1/2 of the time. I have changed the buzzer , but I think that something else is wrong.Does anyone have an electrical drawing or experience with such a problem?
Joe< I had a buzzer / low oil light problem on my 380... I had a mechanic charge me $200.00, only to tell me that it was moisture....After his departure, the same problem persisted and after much trouble shooting, I decovered that the wire clip that attaches to the sending unit was loose. I tightened all the connectors and resolved the problem. good luck
Joe, I had a similar problem in my C30. The hi-temp alarm would buzz without the key in the ignition switch. I found out that there's a wiring harness upgrade that essentially involves replacing the molded connector blocks on either side of the wiring harness between the ignition panel and the engine. These molded connectors can short out. Mine did. Seaward fabricates all of this for Catalina. 562-699-7997. The upgrade also involved a rewire of the alternator for improved charging. It wasn't difficult to do and cost in the $20 range for the kit. My 30 is a '91 and there was a range of years that these connectors were troublesome. Don't know if your boat has these but it's somewhere to look. Good luck. Mine drove me nuts until I traced it to the connector behind the ignition panel and then got the kit to correct it. Seaward can also furnish the wiring diagram. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------IMPORTANT
