my c-30 (543) is getting ready for some new sails. i am trying to get accurate dimensions and i can't seem to find two sets of numbers that match. i have a standard rig with bow sprit. the c-30 owners site gives sizes of 41, 11/6, 35/6, 13/2. every other site that specifically shows the standard w/bow sprit has differing numbers. anyone know for sure what's what?

Do they have a discussion board over there? That's where I'd go to ask, although you may have good luck here, too. As I understand it, the bow sprit usually only came with the tall rig, but I could be wrong, very wrong...

in our experience, no two 30's were built to exactly the same specs. :) And if you're contemplating a furling sail you'll need some measurements around the drum, anyway. Best thing to do is get out the tape measure... that's really the only way to be sure your sails will fit the first time you bend 'em on.

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
If you hire a sail loft to make the sails they will do the measurements and they will get it right. The other nice things it that there is local support then.

Your local PHRF board has the "Standard Measurements" for the Catalina 30 TRBS, which should be close to Butlers's.
If you are to be measured for racing, then go by the "Standard Measurements," since that is what you will be jucged by. Different PHRFs also have, say 153% as the standard genoa, while others might have 150% as the standard.
Otherwise, just have your sailmaker measure and construct them.
