Sometimes in want ads I see a Beneteau described as an "Oceanis 361", and other times as a "361 Sloop." Are they the same boat, or is the Oceanis an earlier model? On the boat models listed at this site, only the "361" is listed.
Beneteau dropped the Oceanis part of the names - the cruising series boats now just go by numbers - if you go to www.beneteauusa.com they list current models and prior models.
If you go to the Beneteau web page it advertises the new Oceanis 42 CC. Oceanis boats were built in the USA and are basically cruising sail boats. The First series were all built in France, with the exception of the 2002 37.7, made in the US for the first time this model year. I guess some adds just leave out the full title of the boat.
