Sarasota Bay. First time I have seen a windshield on a cockpit. Man, she must really go fast!

Hallberg-Rassey sailboats and other boats built in Scandinavia often have fixed windshields. The windshield is a much better idea for a dodger because the glass is clear and vinyl even strata glass gets foggy and scratched over time, affecting visibility.

That being said, I don't think this is a H-R.

The raised area around the companionway is designed for a dodger, looks like the owner opted for a windshield as part of the dodger. Time will tell if he puts canvas on it.

Interesting design for the dinghy davits.

That's a case of " the more you wrap it around the pilling the better" knot..... oh you were talking about the boat?

Many French Amels and some French Beneteau had fixed glass dodgers too.
Getting to be more common on modern designs.
I don’t know what make that is. But the curve in the frame suggests a factory item and not aftermarket.

Looks like that contraption on the stern may be someone's idea of competition with our Handy Dandy Keel Wheels? Remember, the original Handy Dandy Keel Wheels are still on sale at the special boat show prices. Get yours while they last at this price.

I suspect brackets held solar panels in the past. Electrical wires hanging on the upright posts. Forward ports are dark tinted. Hatch was open, was 2 days ago also when I first spotted her.

I like the idea of a rigid windshield on a sailboat if it is done right. This looks like it was ripped off a power boat and bolted down. That opening in the middle is right off a bow rider and the curve doesn't really match the molded coaming. The opening does seem to work well for dropping the boom though

When the deck is awash, I suppose the windshield helps keep water out of the cabin-top vents behond the WINDSHIELD.

I don't recall any American made boat with such a small trunk rise for the cabin. Interesting that the handrails on the cabin top have been removed.. Sure would like to see the HIN ..

The wheel is pretty far forward. Probably to stay clear of the VW Beatle that sits on the overhead rack.

Here are a couple more boats with wrap around windshields.

Najad 380

Nantucket Islander 33

I'm not convinced the vessel DAVA390 pictured originally came with that windshield; it doesn't fit the cockpit curve well enough.
