Identify this boat I found?

Pearson 26 Chesapeake Bay
Sometimes I like to go check out Marina's (that are open and not gated) and see what boats I see. I love sailboats and looking at them and being on them. I came across this one, not exactly sure what model, hopefully someone here will know. I'm quite fond of it, and I'm pretty sure it's been untouched in this slip for years.

Looks like a 38.8 Bristol.. Cool, well built old girl..! That one looks to need some TLC..

Definitely looks like it's had better days!
Although I'd gladly take the burden, were she for sale..

Bristol 29.9 Dana Point
40. Or the older 39.
Not 38.8.
The 38.8 had rectangular slanted "Bristol-style" ports, and drastically updated vs the old 40 or 39.

At first, I was thinking a Shannon 38,

but Bristol 38 looks right.

Nice boat. Mostly, she looks dirty.

It's just sad to see what could be, or could have been, great old boats rotting at the dock like that. I just do not understand it.
I know sometimes the owner has had health issues or maybe even passed away and the family can't or wont deal with it but in almost every marina I've been to I see at least a couple of boats neglected into ruin.

One could ask the owners if, for a small sale price, wouldn't they rather transfer over the marina fees to you?

At the marina my Seawind MKII was at when I bought it last year my "slip neighbor" was a Westsail 32. At one time it was a well fitted out boat, lots of extras on deck and looked to have been well loved at one point. Now it is pretty much a floating health hazard, all the exposed teak is starting to rot and the running rigging is literally falling apart in place. A friend of mine was able to contact the owner and asked about buying it. The owner got kind of cranky and said it wasn't for sale and he was "gonna fix it back up". That was a year ago, nothing has been touched since.

This is exactly how I feel about it. I'd love the look of the boat and I have the energy to put into it. Finding the owner is not so easy.

Where does the marina send the bills?
There is going to be, as part of the slip lease contract, a policy of selling abandoned vessels by the marina. If it has not had its dock fees paid in a year, you could probably buy it from the marina.

From my automobile experience, be careful of the word 'salvage' on the title.

Probably not the Tripp, the inset stripe along the sides is very like the luders 33, and if I had to guess the length, is probably under 40, although I could be mistaken. The Luders 33 is very similar from that pic, the cockpit coamings are definitely similar.
There's something about it though, her wheel pedestal is closer to the companion way, and you can just make out the rudder in the water, it seems the overhangs are great enough the cockpit is hardly wet, which throws me off from pictures online.
I could call the office and inquire about it, I didn't take note of the slip number, but the idea to call did cross my mind. I must be boat crazy, I've hardly finished with my little O222, I guess I am a glutton for boat work. And the "big boat" dream wont leave.
